Budget Hotels at Newcastle Airport

The Britannia, usually the cheapest hotel at Newcastle Airport, is 300 metres from the terminal. The two Premier Inns have fixed-price rates. This guide covers the three hotels and three ways to pay less.

Britannia

The Britannia Hotel is usually the cheapest hotel within a walk of the terminal, 300 metres from the doors. It has basic rooms, a restaurant and bar, and 24-hour room service.

The two Premier Inns

The Premier Inn Newcastle Airport is four minutes on foot from the terminal and has the brand’s Hypnos beds. The Premier Inn South is a five-minute drive away, with free parking and a Metro stop 200 metres from the hotel. Both have fixed-price rates, and at both, children eat breakfast free with paying adults.

Ways to pay less

Book early: the hotels within walking distance sell out around the holiday peaks. Date flexibility: midweek nights cost less than Fridays and school-holiday Saturdays. Day rooms: for a daytime stay, the published day rates at the DoubleTree and Novotel are usually below the overnight price.

Comparing with the Novotel and the Grand

For a group that needs a pool or a full restaurant, compare the total cost with the Novotel or the Grand at Gosforth Park. The Novotel’s pool is free for hotel guests, and the Grand has free parking, so the difference can be smaller than the room rates suggest.
