Newcastle Airport by Metro: The Complete Guide

The Tyne and Wear Metro green line terminates at a station adjoining the terminal at Newcastle Airport, on the same network as Central Station, the coast and Sunderland. This guide covers the times, the fares and the stations near the airport hotels.

The station and the line

The Airport station is a short covered walk from the terminal, no bus and no road to cross. Green line trains run roughly every 12 minutes through the day, calling at Callerton Parkway, Kingston Park and the city stations: Haymarket, Monument and Central Station in about 25 minutes, continuing across the Tyne towards Sunderland. For mainline rail connections, change at Central Station.
